* Please note that all written assignments must be completed in time.

At Beaulaz we are dedicated to teaching practical skills to all learners. In order for us to spend more time on practicals, we expect our learners to study and cover prior to attending the class.

When you attend any of our NVQ courses you will receive a demonstration from the course tutor. Thereafter, you will be expected to practice on one another in order to gain practical experience of the treatment. You will also be required to purchase a kit so you can continue your practice at home.

At the end of the day you will sit an online exam for the unit you have completed. You will also be required to make written assignments on our online e-portfolio. This is to be completed in time.

In order to pass the qualification you must carry out practical assessments for each unit. Depending on which course you enroll in, you will either have assessment dates within your course or you will be given separate dates to attend.

Course Dates/Options

Find all Course Dates here - We have many options for learners wishing to go for NVQ:

Practical Classes for 4 Consecutive Days
This course is great for anyone wishing to learn the skills in four days, and if they already have some experience in beauty. The four days will consist of the course tutor giving a demonstration while you will be practicing the skills on one another. Thereafter you will take an online exam for the units that have been covered.

Assessment for the skills learned will be carried out on allocated assessment dates.
To view assessment dates click here. Please allow 2 to 3 days for assessments.

7 Weeks Course: Course held once a week for 7 weeks
This one is apt for someone who just wants to complete the entire course without having to come back and attend additional assessment days. The course structure will consist of the course tutor giving demonstrations and you practicing on each other. Thereafter you will carry out assessment/exams after class between 4-6pm and will be allocated a further two days of assessment during the 7 weeks course.

* For all options theory and assignments are to be completed as self study, not to be done in the class.

If you feel this is too intense and you have no experience within the industry, we suggest that you go for a longer course with a government
funded college as they normally offer courses which cover all theory in the class room in a rather academic manner.
We can offer you more classes but this will be at an extra cost.

Frequently Asked Questions For Level 2 Course

What is major difference between the 4 days and 4/7 weeks course?

The major difference between the two courses is that a 4 day course is a lot shorter than the 4/7 weeks courses. It is more intense as you will only come in for the units where the tutor will do a demo and you will practice in class. You will need to have a kit so you can practice at home on family and friends. All theory you will need to complete in your own time at home. We recommend anything up to 30 hours a week

What is the procedure of the course?

The procedure for the course is as follows: You do all practical skills in class. eg on Monday you may cover waxing and the next day facials. Thereafter your 4 days you will be expected to come back for assessments on different days.

How much practice do I need to do before the practical assessments?

Each unit assessment varies. Normally there are 3 assessments per unit and 4 for waxing unit.

How long does it normally take to go through the theory/written assignments? Is it VTCT online web site or different web site?

Our assignments are on onefile. You have an assignment for each unit. You will have 8 weeks after attending the class to finish all your work off.

Who is going to be the examiner? are they from VTCT?

Assessments will be carried out by your course tutor. Yes there is a possibility you will be selected for a EV visit with VTCT but this is not to assess you but to assess the tutors. You will have to do online exams for the units. We plan to do this after each unit during class time.

Do I have to pass all of the practical assessments (Mani, Pedi, facials, make-up etc) in one day in front of the examiner?

You can spread your assessments out over 2-3 days this depends on how you would like to do this.

What if I failed the exam? do I have to take another exam? in that case is there any extra cost?

If you fail a exam you get another 2 attempts for free there after any 4th attempt will be charged at £35 as we have to order from VTCT who charges us.

It may be very difficult for me to find a model so can you help me to find a model? The model should get free treatment as I am a trainee?

We have a model list you can contact but we cannot make promises to arrange for you. All students will be required to obtain insurance for carrying out assessment normally you can get from Babtac which is £24.

In a rare case, if you are removed from the VTCT approved centre can the students still continue to study and take the exam through you to get a qualification?

I hope we don't get removed from the VTCT but if this ever happened then no you can't finish qualifications with us as we won't have a VTCT centre but this is highly unlikely.
