Beauty Therapy Level 2 Learning and Exam Process

At our beauty school, we are dedicated to teaching practical skills to all learners. However, to spend more time on practicals, we expect our learners to study the class material before attending the class.

When you attend any of our NVQ courses, you will receive a demonstration from the beauty therapy course tutor. After that, you will be expected to practice on one another to gain practical experience of the treatment. You will also be required to purchase a kit so you can continue your practice at home.

At the end of the course, you will take an online exam. Therefore, it would help if you also wrote assignments in your online portfolio, as this is how you show us that you have finished the course.

You need to take practice tests for each class. You will either have to take the test during your course or be given an extra date to do it.

Level 2 Beauty Therapy Course Dates/Options

Practical Classes for 4 Consecutive Days

This course teaches the skills in just four days, and you don't need to have any specific experience. First, the tutor will be showing a demonstration while instructors practice the skills on one another. Next, you'll take an online exam for what has been covered during the day.

Assessment for the skills learned will be carried out on allocated assessment dates.

7 Weeks Course: Course held once a week for sevenweeks

This option is for someone who wants to complete the entire course without coming back and attending additional assessment days. The course structure will consist of the course tutor giving demonstrations and you practising on each other.

After that, you will carry out assessment/exams after class between 4-6pm and will be allocated an additional two days of assessment during the seven weeks course.

* For all coursework, theory and assignments are done as self-study.
Therefore, students do not have to come to class for any of this work.

We recommend you explore other programs should this beauty course level 2 seem too intensive as some government schools offer more theory-based classes and degrees.

We can offer you more classes, but this will be at an extra cost.

Frequently Asked Questions For
NVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy Course

What Is A Major Difference Between The 4 Days And 4/7 Weeks Course?

The significant difference between the two courses is that a 4-day course is much shorter than the 4/7 weeks courses. However, it is more intense as you will only come in for the units where the tutor will do a demo, and you will practice in class.

You will need to have a kit so you can practice at home with family and friends. All theory you will need to complete in your own time at home. We recommend anything up to 30 hours a week

What Is The Procedure Of The Fast Track NVQ Level 2 Beauty Course?

The procedure for the course is as follows: You do all practical skills in class. For Eg, on Monday, you may cover waxing and the next day facials. After that, you will be expected to come back for assessments on different days in your four days.

How Much Practice Do I Need To Do Before The Practical Assessments?

Each unit assessment varies. Typically there are three assessments per unit and four for the waxing unit

How Long Does It Usually Take To Go Through The Theory/Written Assignments? Is It VTCT Online Website Or A Different Website?

Our assignments are on OneFile. You have one assignment for each unit. You will have eight weeks after attending the class to finish all your work off.

Who Is Going To Be The Examiner? Are They From Vtct?

Your course tutor will carry out assessments. So yes, there is a possibility you will be selected for an EV visit with VTCT, but this is not to assess you but to assess the tutors. You will have to do online exams for the units. We plan to do this after each unit during class time.

Do I Have To Pass All Of The Practical Assessments (Manicure, Pedicure, Facials, Makeup Etc) In One Day In Front Of The Examiner?

You can spread your assessments out over 2-3 days. This depends on how you would like to do this.

What If I Failed The Exam? Do I Have To Take Another Exam? In That Case Is There Any Extra Cost?

If you fail an exam, you get another two attempts for free after that; any further attempts ischarged £35.

It May Be Challenging For Me To Find A Model

We have a model list you can contact, but we cannot make promises to arrange this for you. All students will be required to obtain insurance for carrying out an assessment you usually can get from Babtac, which is around £40.

In A Rare Case, If You Are Removed From The VTCT Approved Centre, Can The Students Continue To Study And Take The Exam Through You To Get A Qualification?

I hope we don't get removed from the VTCT, but if this ever happened, you can't finish qualifications with us as we won't have a VTCT centre, but this is highly unlikely.
