How to Become a Laser Technician?

by Samantha Morgan

Hi my Name is Samantha. I'm 26 years old. I was wondering if you could help me please. I have no beauty training or experience, but I would like to train to become a laser technician. I was originally interested in Laser tattoo removal and after doing some research realised that I would like to find a course to become a laser technician.

I have no idea where to start. I read you start with a 'core of knowledge' course, but they are normally only lasting a day and after that I wouldn't know what else I would need to study or if that is enough to start working in a salon. If you could tell me what course(s) I would have to take in order to achieve this that would be much appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Hi Samantha, It is great news that you would like to become a laser technician. At the moment there are no requirements to do Level 4 laser with our beauty school and the core of knowledge is covered within the course.

If you would like to start working in a salon I would recommend you complete Level 2 and 3 Beauty as this will allow you to become more employable.

In Regards to insurance only BABTAC will insure you with just the level 4 laser other insurance companies may want you to hold a full level 2 or even a level 3.

It is for your benefit if you have a level 2 and 3 as many insurance companies require this as a minimum. Currently only BABTAC accept level 4 only and no prerequisite is required.

I hope that helps

Halima
