I Would LIke to Apply for L4 Laser & IPL Training.

Hi, Do I need to study Anatomy & Physiology of the stage of the hair growth or no as I did L3 . How many assignments we need to complete.
Thanks.

Reply Hi Zahra

Your question is, do you need to do Anatomy & Physiology of the hair growth, as you’ve done a level 3.

Well, if you’ve done your level 2 and level 3 qualification, you won’t really need to do Anatomy & Physiology again. Because you’ve got your level 2 and level 3 qualification, you can move straight on to your level 4 qualification without any issues.

But if you’ve only done a level 3 qualification and not a level 2 qualification, then there may be an issue there.

You will probably just need to do the facial unit, and the waxing unit out of the level 2, and the level 4, and that should cover you for anything that you’ve missed and you should be able to obtain insurance.

So you will have to do a level 2 unit out of the NVQ 2 for the facials and the waxing, and then a level 4.

I hope that’s answered your question.

Qualifications needed to do Laser and IPL

I am a qualified pharmacist and have done Biology at A Level and now want to do laser beauty therapy.

I do not have any other previous beauty qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 and 3 in beauty.
Would it still be possible to do the NVQ Level 4 in IPL and Laser without doing NVQ Level 2 and 3? And still be able to get professional indemnity and public liability insurance?

Would i be able to to the fast track 3 day course instead?

Reply Hi,

I understand you would like to do level 4 laser hair removal and you have a background in science, so you have a degree in science. If you've got biology that covers quite a lot of the A&P as well but at the end of the day, there's no pre-requests to do the level four at the moment so you could do the level 4 laser qualification.

My only concern would be, would you be able to obtain insurance, personal insurance in order to go and trade outside. We employ nurses, and they're able to get insurance because they've got nursing backgrounds because they've studied the anatomy and physiology of the body.

Well, if you've got a science background I don't see why it wouldn't be possible. My personal advice is, ring a few insurance companies such as BABTAC, ABT insurance, Baleins insurance.

Just type in laser hair removal insurance companies and ring them up and give them your background and your qualifications and just say look, I've done a level 4 in Laser & IPL Training as well, see if they would cover you. If they cover you, it's brilliant. I personally don't see it's going to be a problem.

Where to purchase laser hair removal machines

by hannah
(wales)

when the course is completed where can I get a machine to use at home and how much are they?

Reply Hi Hannah,

When the course is complete, we do give you a list of supplies that we recommend. The machine's prices vary from £15,000 up to £80,000, so it depends on your market and what you require. But please bear in mind, you do need to be a qualified therapist in order to use the machines.

Just a level 4 qualification, you will not be able to use the machines. You need to have a previous level 2 or a level 3, or be a doctor or a nurse.

Fast Track IPL Laser Course

What is the cost for IPL LASER Skin Rejuvenation and Hair Removal course.

Thanks

Reply Hi,

The price for the level 4 qualification is £1,440, and on top of that you have a registration fee to pay, which is £16 and a qualification fee as well which is around £59.

Here is the link which explains details of the IPL course and what is actually covered.

We do offer 3 routes for this: There is the 12-week course which is starting on the 6th of July, or there is the fast-track which will be starting in September which is a 5-day course, which will be split up over 2 months.

For more information, please feel to contact me, thanks.

I would like to know if you have another branch in London, and when the laser hair removal course will start in Hounslow.

Reply Hi, Inguborge

We have a branch in London, which is London-Paddington branch, but at the moment we only offer treatments there. We are looking to start the laser hair removal course though in June

Hi, Do I need NVQ level 2&3 in Beauty to do laser training

by Dee Dhaliwal-Gill
(Hounslow)

Hi Manroop

I am considering doing an NVQ level 2&3 in basic and electrical facials. Followed by a NVQ in electrolysis. Eventually I would like to do courses in skin rejuvenation and light therapy. Will the level 2&3 NVQ enable me to do this.

At present I have no beauty experience, however am very willing to do work experience to gain more expertise knowledge. Your advice and recommendations will be highly appreciated.

Dee.

Reply Hi Dee

If you would like to pursue a career as a laser technician, you do need to have a level 2 in beauty and a level 3 in the facial electrics with electrolysis. So once you've completed your level 2 and 3, you will be able to do the skin rejuvenation and the light therapy course.

To start the level 2 you don't need any previous experience. We have 2 different routes for level 2 and 3.

Route 1 is one day a week, which is very intense. We normally recommend this route for students who have got some beauty experience and able to fast-track the course.

The other route is twice a week, or once a week but with a longer week period. So normally the route 1 is 16 weeks, if it's 2 days a week, it will still remain 16 weeks, but if it's once a week, then you're looking at, for an average class of 32 lessons.

Again, a level 3, we also have a route 1 and 2. So I do recommend that you start off with a level 2 to begin with.
